Dr. Rampitsch is a research scientist at Agriculture and Agrifood Canada, at a research centre in Morden, Manitoba. His programme uses proteomics, peptidomics, bioinformatics and biological mass spectrometry to investigate plant-pathogen interactions. His research is mainly focused on Puccinia triticina (wheat leaf rust), with emphasis on effector proteins and peptides, and on Fusarium graminearum, with emphasis on effectors and mycotoxin biosynthesis regulation. Dr. Rampitsch was the Chair of INPPO2020, which was hosted on-line from Canada in 2021.
