Ive De Smet
Belgium
Ive De Smet leads the Functional Phosphoproteomics group at the VIB-UGent Center for Plant Systems Biology. His long-term goal as a researcher is to explain how plants develop and adapt to environmental changes. He is interested in conserved cellular phosphorylation-driven signaling mechanisms orchestrating warm temperature-mediated responses in plants and the interaction with drought. He uses dynamic changes in phosphorylation to identify and explore the functional role of conserved phosphorylation events and to build signaling networks for kinases/phosphatases and their substrates.
